New Prototype Pics
7-Three two-piece bar and Streetsweeper HA's
The holiday season is upon us and the 2010 will be here in just a few days. Before things get too out of control I wanted to get some news up on the site. Below are pictures of 2 prototypes that I have been working on lately.

In the first picture is a prototype of the new 7-Three two-piece bar. We have been hard at work in the shop bending up what we think is a sick, tidy looking, super simple two-piece bar. The 7-Threes get their name from their design aspect of 7 degrees back-sweep and 3 degrees up-sweep that the production run will come with. The cross-bar is 3/4" tubing and the bars should weigh in right around 26 ounces painted. They will be available this week. Exact specs will be released when I pick them up from the painter Wednesday.

In the second picture is a sample of a Streetsweeper peg finished with a Hard Anodize Type III process. This process actually hardens the surface of the aluminum whereas the Anodize Type II process used on most alloy parts does not. The hard anodize will make the knurling on the peg more durable and less susceptible to wear. The hard anodize process does not create a matrix that accepts dyes so these pegs will have a very industrial look to them. The sample in the picture was anodized to a thickness so that the colors on both the 7075 and the 6061 would match. the production run will be available in this color and a darker black body with this color end-cap. Look for these pegs to be available sometime in January. My anodize technician told me this process is as "hard as diamond!" I have been wanting to put this product out for quite some time and to my knowledge this process has not been used on a flatland peg before even though it is a perfect application for it. It is a more expensive process but it should not raise the price of the pegs that much. Streetsweepers with the Type III process will have the designation HA at the end of their name while other limited colorways of the Streetsweepers will continue to be released. Merry X-Mas Flatland!
